"Pilipinas Kay Ganda" Logo



The Tourism slogan “Pilipinas Kay Ganda” alleged in plagiarism and drew criticism after a week of its launch in 2010 due to the similarities of the logo to Poland’s “Polska”, from the elements of the logo: font, color of the tree in the copied logo. An application where users can make a personalized name logo with the tagline “Kay Ganda” then made the rounds on social media sites as Filipinos made fun of the alleged plagiarism committed by the advertising agency tapped by DOT. DOT did was took full responsibility for the campaign and DOT Undersecretary Vicente “Enteng” Romano III, who was in charge of DOT’s planning and promotions section left his post. Moreover, he apologize to President Benigno Aquino III,Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim and to the public over the controversy. After the stated issue The “Pilipinas Kay Ganda” campaign was scrapped and eventually replaced by the “it’s more fun in the Philippines” slogan, which became an Internet hit.
